FAQ
Why is there hardly anything on the site?
Geeks Exposed is new, so there aren't many members or features yet. Right now the idea is to keep things simple.
If enough members join, though, I will consider adding more features, like blogging and private messaging. The first thing I'll probably
add is the ability for members to comment on other members' pages.
...Of course if you want to see more content added to the site, the best way is to join! :p
Why is it geeksexposed.org and not geeksexposed.com?
Two reasons:
- www.geeksexposed.com/net/just-about-everything-else were already being squatted by someone
- .org has a nice non-profit feel to it, which is great because this isn't about making money. Actually, if the site gets
popular enough to make even a little bit of money (unlikely, but who knows?) I'd like to donate it to a charity that helps youth
who are struggling with problems.
If I join, can I remove my pictures and writings later?
Sure! Just send an email to
webmaster at geeksexposed.org saying you want to be removed from the site. I'll email you back at the address you sent the
pictures from (to confirm that it's you) and once that's verified - *poof!* Bye-bye pics and writings.
Can I add more pictures and writings once I join?
Yep, just email them like you did when you joined.
Any suggestions for what I should write about?
It's up to you, but here are some ideas:
- Not-as-personal thoughts:
- Hobbies
- Favorite/least favorite things
- Explanations of things in your photos
- If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?
- What you did today
- Favorite places to hang out
- Political opinions
- Unusual talents
- Coffee, tea, or soda?
- If you had just one wish, what would it be?
- A funny or cool thing that happened to you
- Your favorite joke
- More personal thoughts:
- Goals and dreams for the future
- What you like/dislike most about yourself
- An embarrassing thing that happened to you
- Your thoughts on love
- Your fears
- Personal struggles
- Biggest turn-ons and turn-offs
- Your biggest regret
Just about anything, really :)
Why do submissions have to go through email? Why aren't they automated?
I considered an automated system, but decided against it for two main reasons. First of all, handling submissions by email lets me
screen what goes on the site to make sure it's not inappropriate (like porn or just not following the rules.) Second, an automated
system would take more work to create, and it doesn't seem worth it until the site gets a lot of, you know... members. ;)
