What is Geeks Exposed (GX)?

A place for sharing and showing yourself, with a dash of community and support. To put it simply, Geeks Exposed is a celebration of geeks and geekdom. What's on the inside and the outside.

Everyone knows someone who is a geek - someone way into something, maybe whose hobbies and/or life in general falls outside of what society says is "cool". This website is a place where people, like us, who call themselves geeks can share their thoughts. Everything from surface thoughts, like their favorite musical genre, to deeper personal thoughts, like their secret fears and desires.

Can we be awkward? Strange? Out of the mainstream? Sure. But whether we're conventionally cool and attractive or not, I think geeks are awesome and sexy. If you agree, please join us in support of this site!

How does it work?

Members submit two pictures of themselves. The first picture is of the person fully clothed, as he or she would appear in normal everyday life. For the sake of anonymity, the face does not need to be shown, but it can be. Along with this picture, the person shares some basic information:

• Alias (screen name)
• Age
• What kind of geek they consider themselves to be (computer, math, science, music, band, anime, video game, etc.)
• What the geekiest things about them are
• What the un-geekiest things about them are (okay, "un-geeky" isn't a word, but you get what I mean :p )
• Their website, if they have one
• Other random information they feel like sharing that isn't too personal

The second picture is of the person, but having removed some clothing. No full-on nudity, just enough to show more than most others see in everyday life - i.e. back, chest, stomach, or underwear. Along with this picture, the person also reveals deeper, more intimate thoughts.

Example

Tall or short, skinny or overweight, conventionally pretty or not - geeks are hot. (And friggin' awesome, too!)

How do I join?

It's easy! Here's what you do:

• Above all, you must consider yourself a geek in some way.
• You must be at least 18 years of age (although there isn't nudity in the pictures, I'd rather be playing RPGs than dealing with potential legal issues arising from partially undressed minors >.< ) Nothing personal against underage geeks, though... you're still awesome too!
• Submit the photos and writings, as described above, on the Join page. Your face does not need to be visible, unless you are comfortable with it.
• Be sure to answer these questions:
  1. What alias/screen name would you like on the site?
  2. What is your age?
  3. What kind of geek are you?
  4. What are the geekiest things about you/geekiest things you've ever done?
  5. What are the un-geekiest things about you?
  6. What is your web address? (optional, if you have a website)
• Include any other thoughts, confessions, or stories you want. You can find some ideas for what to write about here. Write just a few sentences or an essay, it's up to you!
• Undress no further than down to your underwear. We want to keep it clean :) If you don't feel comfortable going that far, that's perfectly okay! Just show us more than people usually see, somehow. This is about the hidden side of geeks, physically and mentally!

Don't worry about how you look or what you're wearing. Whether you're built like a model, you're a stick, or you're chubby in all the wrong places, we want to see. Whether you wear holey shirts, tightie-whities, granny panties, or you're ready for the cover of Vogue, we want to see. This is all about the real you.

If you have extra photos of yourself, your room, your computer setup, etc, you can send those along to be posted too!

Pictures you submit might get resized to work better on the site.

You can write whatever you want, but stay away from hate speech and excessive profanity, please. (Some vulgar language is allowed, just don't get carried away!)
